The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Acton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ranson to the mat! Ranson manages to get full guard.
Acton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ranson is keeping the position for now.
Acton passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A lull in the action here as Acton stalls from top position.
Acton tries to move to mount but Ranson blocks the move with his legs.
Acton trying to control the position but Ranson is working away.
Acton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ranson is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Ranson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Acton wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ranson prevents Acton from moving into mount.

Acton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ranson, who protects the arm well.
Ranson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Acton has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Acton is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Ranson is trying to escape and Acton transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Ranson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Acton! Very nice indeed!
