Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Al Coholic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filipe Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryant has chosen Ride Wit Me- Nelly as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryant pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bryant tries for a takedown but Coholic circles away easily

and Coholic counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bryant's guard now.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bryant wants to sweep here but Coholic controlling him for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Al Coholic just wasn't active enough.

Coholic works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Bryant can't keep his opponent in guard - Coholic advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Coholic closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bryant looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Coholic is fending him off so far but Bryant persists. Nope, Coholic circles away and we're back to standing.

Coholic darts in and clinches Bryant up against the cage.

Bryant jumps guard but Coholic stands there with Bryant around his waist. Bryant gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Coholic breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Coholic looks to land a combination. Bryant sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Bryant takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Coholic shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bryant manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Coholic stays in close to Bryant's body and controls the position.

Coholic gets to his feet. Bryant looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Coholic rushes Bryant and presses him up against the cage.

Coholic has hold of one of Bryant's legs. Bryant is fighting the takedown attempt but Coholic gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Coholic will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Coholic gets to his feet - Bryant follows without any prompting.

Coholic is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bryant's half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Coholic dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bryant wants to control but Coholic is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Al Coholic overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Coholic is taking a breather. Bryant says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Coholic's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Al Coholic wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Coholic takes the fight into the clinch.
Coholic lands a left hand.
Coholic is pressed up against the cage. Bryant has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Coholic down to the mat. Coholic avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Coholic.
Al Coholic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Coholic has closed the distance and engaged Bryant in a clinch.
Coholic will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Bryant up against the cage.

Bryant doesn't manage to clinch there - Coholic circles away.
Bryant dives in and grabs Coholic's left leg, looking for a takedown. Coholic pushes down on Bryant's head and hops out.

Bryant is fighting to break Coholic's control of his arms but Coholic is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coholic has his foot on Bryant's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bryant works his way back into a safe position though.

Coholic working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bryant doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Coholic is tightening it up a little... Bryant has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bryant reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bryant taps out! Nice BJJ there by Coholic!

Al Coholic opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
