Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nate North (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy McRandy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Nate North has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nate North!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andy McRandy!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McRandy shoots in but no luck this time.
McRandy misses the shot to the body.

North shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than North was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McRandy tries to get back to half guard but can't.
North with good strikes from the mount here!
North with a couple of short strikes.
McRandy sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
North throwing shots but McRandy is blocking nicely.

North is looking for a kimura but McRandy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for North to get the leverage.
North missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
McRandy is trying to defend against the ground and pound but North scores with a couple of nice shots.
North takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
North throwing shots but McRandy is blocking nicely.
McRandy is trying to maintain the position but North is very close to passing his half guard.

North not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
McRandy has a hand on North's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. North takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
McRandy in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

McRandy tries to lock up and control but North gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
North prevents McRandy from getting the reversal.
North landing strikes, looking to finish!
McRandy is trying desperately to improve position.
McRandy holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as North tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McRandy can do anything to dispel that myth.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
North thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
North throws some wild stikes that McRandy manages to avoid easily.
North breaks from McRandy's wrist control and lands an elbow.
North throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for McRandy because North loaded up on that one.
McRandy holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as North tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
McRandy tries to hold on but North pushes him away.
North with a couple of short strikes.
McRandy avoids a series of strikes thrown by North.
McRandy really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
McRandy in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
McRandy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with North. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

North looking for a guillotine from mount but McRandy is having none of it.
North lands a big shot there that rocks McRandy but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
North unloads with some shots from mount but McRandy bucks and avoids them well.
North with shots to the head and body - McRandy looks very uncomfortable down there.
McRandy working to try and regain half guard.
North wants to control the pace but McRandy is squirming around nicely.
North landing strikes from the mount and McRandy is in trouble!
McRandy avoids a series of strikes thrown by North.
North looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
North thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
McRandy is trying to escape the mount.

North throwing strikes here but McRandy is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

McRandy avoids a series of strikes thrown by North.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
North thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
McRandy wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by North.
North unloads with some shots from mount but McRandy bucks and avoids them well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nate North dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


McRandy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts North as he jumps to the side.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McRandy is defended easily by North.
North wants to clinch up but McRandy keeps it at a distance.

North rushes McRandy and presses him up against the cage.
McRandy blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
McRandy prevents a body shot from North.
McRandy takes a shot to the head.
North misses with the head strike.
North goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
North displaying some good clinch control by pressing McRandy up against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
North misses with a punch to the body.
McRandy can't get the takedown.
Nate North has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy McRandy.

North has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed McRandy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

McRandy has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from North.
North keeps control of the position as McRandy tries to break free.
North scores with punches and elbows.
North thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
North is punishing McRandy with some ground and pound.
North is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McRandy can do to turn this around?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McRandy tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
North with shots to the head and body - McRandy looks very uncomfortable down there.


McRandy is rocked!
McRandy blocking the ground and pound.
McRandy is still in real trouble! Can North finish him?
North is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. McRandy can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
North throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
North connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
North looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has McRandy covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nate North!
