The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Max lands a left and a right that sends Hirohito crashing to the canvas! Max dives into mount looking to finish!

It looks like Emperor Hirohito has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hirohito is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hirohito is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Hirohito reaches up and holds on to Max to control the position.
Hirohito is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Max wants to control the pace but Hirohito is squirming around nicely.

Hirohito tries to lock up and control but Max gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Max cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Oh Hirohito is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hirohito avoids a series of strikes thrown by Max.
Max really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hirohito. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Poor strikes thrown by Max there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Max tries to control but Hirohito wriggling away.
Hirohito seems to have got his legs back now.
Hirohito bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Max is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Hirohito drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Hirohito seems to have locked his on tight now - Max screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Hirohito, as he picks up the win!
