The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waits throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Waits scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Sajewski looks for a takedown but Waits sprawls well.
Waits tries to clinch but Sajewski moves out of range.
Waits tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sajewski swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sajewski connects with the punch.

Waits shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Waits looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Waits is looking for a kimura but Sajewski is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Waits to get the leverage.
Sajewski pushes Waits off looking to stand but Waits dives back in and keeps control.
Sajewski is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Sajewski trying to hold on to Waits's head to control him but Waits postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Waits wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Sajewski uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Waits wants to stand and escape but instead Sajewski has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Sajewski is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Waits trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Waits looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sajewski is one step ahead there.
Sajewski is looking to work some ground and pound but Waits has wrist control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sajewski distracts Waits with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Waits shoots for a takedown but Sajewski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sajewski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sajewski wants to take a breather but Waits is having none of it.
