The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGrim takes one to the side of the head.
McGrim throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Sparrow connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

and Sparrow makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

McGrim tries to keep at a distance but Sparrow has taken the fight into the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sparrow is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. McGrim can't fight it off and eventually Sparrow manages to take the fight to the floor. McGrim looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

McGrim takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Sparrow throws a combination. McGrim tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Sparrow lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McGrim circles away quickly and effectively.

McGrim is trying desperately to land a takedown but Sparrow is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for McGrim.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Jack Sparrow wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sparrow takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

McGrim throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McGrim shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Sparrow lands a nice knee to the body.

Sparrow tightens his grip and picks McGrim up, before dumping him to the ground. McGrim manages to land in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McGrim takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
This has been an exciting period of action!

McGrim is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sparrow is just too persistent for him and manages to trip McGrim to the mat. McGrim regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Sparrow connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed McGrim momentarily.

Sparrow closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Sparrow misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Sparrow has worked his way into a potential kimura here. McGrim is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sparrow yanks on the arm and McGrim is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sparrow.
