The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clausen avoids a kick to the body.
Nye tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Clausen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Clausen lands a nice hook to Nye's body. Nye takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Clausen counters with a nice uppercut.

Nye slips a jab from Clausen.
Nye tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Clausen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nye shoots in looking for a takedown but Clausen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nye's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Clausen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Nye uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Clausen.
Clausen scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Clausen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Nye stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nye looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nye takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Nye steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Clausen.

and Clausen counters with a three punch combo that has Nye backing up. Nye nods at Clausen to acknowledge the strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nye walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Clausen throws a looping overhand right but Nye ducks down to avoid it.
Nye wants to clinch up but Clausen keeps it at a distance.

Nye has taken the fight to the clinch.

Clausen makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Clausen scores with a shot to the side of Nye's head.
Nye is trying to maintain a safe position but Clausen gets an underhook and turns Nye into the cage.

Clausen keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nye's efforts to push away.

Nye gets control of Clausen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nye will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Clausen prevents Nye from getting back to his feet.
Nye is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Nye's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Clausen connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Nye scrambles back to his feet.
Clausen leaves Nye with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Nye stalks Clausen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Clausen's face. Clausen staggers backwards, shaken.

Clausen can't find room to land a body shot as Nye controls the action.
Nye is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Clausen is defending well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Clausen creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Clausen takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Clausen lands a big right hand that sends Nye crashing to the mat! Clausen stays standing though and waves Nye back to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Clausen lands a really nice looking cross but Nye seems unphased.
Clausen tries to bum rush Nye with a series of wild strikes but Nye uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Clausen sends Nye crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Clausen is motioning to the referee to let Nye up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Nye shoots in but Clausen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Claus Clausen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill Nye.
Nye is holding his hands too far apart here. Clausen throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Nye is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
