Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lorenzo Von Matterhorn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Pazur! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pazur takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Von Matterhorn is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pazur's half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Pazur tries to get to full guard but Von Matterhorn has control of the leg. Pazur slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Pazur is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Von Matterhorn is aware though and is defending well. Von Matterhorn content to stall in guard here. Von Matterhorn working some strikes from top position. Pazur looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Von Matterhorn with a nice head shot there. Von Matterhorn stands up over Pazur, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pazur working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Von Matterhorn has passed into half guard!
Pazur looks winded! Von Matterhorn is working for a kimura but Pazur is defending it quite comfortably.
That's one minute gone in the round. Von Matterhorn with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Von Matterhorn winds up and cracks Pazur with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Von Matterhorn landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Von Matterhorn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Von Matterhorn perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Von Matterhorn in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pazur tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Von Matterhorn!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lorenzo Von Matterhorn! Lorenzo Von Matterhorn very nearly forgot to thank Outkast Clothing Line amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
