The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lauzon slips a jab and a cross from Naldo.
Lauzon throws a nice looking combination but Naldo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lauzon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Naldo avoids it really well and circles away.
Lauzon is looking to clinch but Naldo is avoiding it.

Lauzon looking to score a takedown here. Naldo is defending well but Lauzon drives through and ends up in Naldo's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Naldo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Lauzon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lauzon enables Naldo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lauzon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Lauzon has an active guard here but Naldo has managed to pass into half guard.
Lauzon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lauzon is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lauzon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Naldo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lauzon stands and throws Naldo's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lauzon is looking to take a break and control but Naldo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lauzon moves into full mount!

Lauzon is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Naldo has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Lauzon has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Naldo taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Lauzon doesn't care though - he's delighted!
