PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simon Williamson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Sutter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williamson comes into the arena with Iggy Pop - Lust For Life blaring out of the sound system. Eric Sutter struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Sutter!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williamson throws a shot from downtown. Sutter moves away and avoids it.
Sutter looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Williamson looks to land a combination but Sutter avoids it well.
Sutter fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Williamson checks it well.
Sutter throws a head kick that misses.
Sutter takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Sutter has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Williamson finds it's way round the side to connect with Sutter's head.
Sutter keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Williamson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Still in half guard, Williamson seems content to control.

Williamson is looking to take a break and control but Sutter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Williamson wants to free his trapped foot but Sutter is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Sutter is not content to let Williamson control the position.
Williamson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Williamson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Williamson uses his free foot to push down on Sutter's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sutter.
Williamson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sutter is looking to escape.

Sutter is bucking up trying to escape but Williamson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The referee warns Sutter that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Williamson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Williamson postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Sutter in real trouble here! The ref calls for Sutter to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Simon Williamson gave a mention to Steel Penn's Laundry 93% in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
