Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Juan Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perez's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Kill The Noise Pt. 1. The crowd seem to be enjoying Thompson's choice of entrance music: When The Music Stops. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Thompson misses.
Perez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Thompson moves into the clinch.

Perez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Thompson can't fight it off and eventually Perez manages to take the fight to the floor. Thompson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Thompson controls Perez momentarily but Perez frees himself.

Perez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Thompson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Thompson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Perez wants to get up but he can't break Thompson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Michael Thompson was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Thompson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Perez closes the distance and clinches up with Thompson, looking for a takedown. Perez pushes Thompson against the cage but Thompson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Michael Thompson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Thompson wants to control from the top but Perez keeps moving.

Perez looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Thompson has picked Perez up and slammed him! Perez can't keep hold of the triangle and Thompson manages to pass to side control!

Thompson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Perez sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Well Thompson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Michael Thompson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
