Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Jolley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Ernst!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ernst throws a hook but Jolley blocks it.
A big right from Ernst misses.
Jolley misses with a body shot.
Jolley throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Ernst counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jolley throws a shot from downtown. Ernst moves away and avoids it.
Jolley shoots in looking for a takedown. Ernst tries to sprawl out of it but Jolley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ernst manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jolley.
Jolley fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ernst avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Jolley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Ernst counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
James Jolley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jolley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ernst defends it nicely.
Jolley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ernst was well out of range. Poor timing from Jolley.

Ernst fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jolley.

It looks like Tim Ernst has been cut.
Ernst is looking to clinch but Jolley is avoiding it.
Jolley has his takedown stuffed
and Ernst counters with a stiff right hand.
Ernst lands a jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jolley dives in and grabs Ernst's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ernst pushes down on Jolley's head and hops out.
Jolley has his takedown stuffed
and Ernst counters with a nice body shot.
Jolley tries for a takedown but Ernst sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jolley throws an overhand right that lands on Ernst's shoulder, as Ernst tries to avoid the shot.
Tim Ernst is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Horrible takedown by Jolley or perhaps it was just good defense by Ernst which made him look bad.
No joy there for Ernst, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jolley is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ernst.

Jolley shoots in and drives through. Ernst sprawls well.

Ernst closes the distance and clinches.
Jolley is trying to pull guard but Ernst turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Jolley tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ernst just stands there and leans against the cage.

Ernst pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ernst lands a nice shot to the body.
Jolley is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Ernst's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Jolley shoots in for a takedown but Ernst shows good takedown defense.
Ernst lands a slapping body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jolley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ernst sprawls well. Ernst wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jolley gets slowly back to his feet.
Ernst scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jolley doesn't seem bothered though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jolley shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ernst but Ernst pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jolley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ernst.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Ernst tries to clinch but Jolley moves out of range.
Nice straight punches there by Jolley. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jolley.
Jolley closes the distance and clinches up with Ernst, looking for a takedown. Jolley pushes Ernst against the cage but Ernst circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jolley. Ernst does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ernst throws a series of punches but Jolley avoids them all with ease.
Tim Ernst seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jolley has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ernst.
Ernst uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jolley.
Jolley swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ernst moves out of range of the strikes.

Jolley dives in and scores a takedown into Ernst's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ernst holds on and takes a little breather.

Ernst is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ernst preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ernst is pulling down on Jolley's head. It's preventing any offense from Jolley, at least for the moment.
Jolley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jolley looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tim Ernst hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Ernst moves into the clinch.
Ernst throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jolley blocks it with crossed arms.

Ernst's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ernst cracks Jolley with a right hand to the side of the head.

Jolley throws a hook to the side of Ernst's head but Ernst sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ernst moves out of range as Jolley strikes.
Jolley takes a swing at Ernst's ribcage but misses.

Jolley closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ernst's guard.
Jolley is stalling in the full guard.

Ernst tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jolley wants to control from the top but Ernst keeps moving.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Ernst swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jolley.
Jolley misses with a few strikes there.
Jolley takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Ernst drives through and clinches with Jolley against the cage.
Ernst unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jolley lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Ernst.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ernst creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Ernst misses with a knee strike.
Ernst manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Ernst lands a left hand that snaps the head of Jolley backwards.

Jolley wants to get back to striking at distance but Ernst won't allow it.
Jolley's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Ernst struggles to land a body shot inside as Jolley controls his hands.

Jolley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ernst walks away with a smile on his face. Jolley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Ernst lands a knee to the body.

Ernst lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Ernst is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Ernst lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Jolley tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ernst smiles and moves away.

Ernst fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jolley, pushing him back against the cage.

Ernst with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Ernst is pushing Jolley up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Ernst continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Ernst lands an uppercut.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tim Ernst comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ernst has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
