PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marc KroKop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think KroKop might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to This Day We Fight. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Millar closes the distance and clinches up with KroKop, looking for a takedown. Millar pushes KroKop against the ropes but KroKop circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Millar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
KroKop dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Millar. That did some damage!

Millar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
KroKop thows a body kick. Millar tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Marc KroKop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Millar.
Millar chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before KroKop can pounce on him.

Millar does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Dan Millar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
KroKop wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Millar is defended easily by KroKop.

Millar dives in and grabs KroKop's left leg, looking for a takedown. KroKop pushes down on Millar's head and hops out.

Millar is trying desperately to land a takedown but KroKop is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Millar.

KroKop connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Millar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? KroKop is fending him off so far but Millar persists. Nope, KroKop circles away and we're back to standing.
KroKop lands a head kick. Millar smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Millar wants to land a leg kick but KroKop is out of range.
Millar wants to clinch up but KroKop keeps it at a distance.
KroKop throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
KroKop goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

This has been an exciting period of action!
KroKop lands with a kick to the temple. Millar shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

KroKop lands with a hook. Millar tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Millar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? KroKop is fending him off so far but Millar persists. Nope, KroKop circles away and we're back to standing.
KroKop lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
KroKop misses with a head kick.
Millar shoots in for a double leg but KroKop sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
KroKop lands with a hook. Millar tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Millar wants to clinch.
Millar on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
KroKop is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

KroKop throws a head kick but Millar moves out of range.
KroKop misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Millar tries to close the distance and clinch up but KroKop swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That kick from KroKop tenderised Millar's leg. Millar is trying to keep his angry face on.

KroKop lands a big head kick that sends Millar tumbling to the mat! KroKop takes a step backwards and waves Millar back to his feet - he wants the finish!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
