The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Robb Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith throws a head kick that misses.
Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Baker avoids the head kick by Smith.
Smith throws a lazy head kick

and Baker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Baker.
Baker lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Smith wants to get back to striking at distance but Baker won't allow it.
Baker works on Smith's body with a couple of short punches.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Baker takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Baker lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Smith is trying to break the clinch but Baker is controlling him.

Baker throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Smiths head.

Baker breaks the clinch.
Robb Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Smith throws a combination that misses
and Baker counters with a nice leg kick.
Baker moves forwards but Smith connects with a nice, crisp jab.
A head kick by Smith misses
and Baker counters with a low kick, right behind Smith 's knee.

Baker fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but Baker persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Baker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Baker is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Smith!

Smith is bucking up trying to escape but Baker cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Baker lands a big shot there that rocks Smith but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Baker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Smith is still in real trouble! Can Baker finish him?

Smith seems to have recovered his senses.
Baker thowing shots but they're missing.
Baker lands with some strikes.

Baker is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Smith can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
