The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Veidt's half guard.

Torres has his foot on Veidt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Veidt works his way back into a safe position though.

Torres throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Veidt was covering up waiting for the punch and Torres finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Torres gets to his feet - Veidt follows without any prompting.

Veidt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Veidt tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Torres was well out of range. Poor timing from Veidt.
Torres closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Veidt to the mat! Veidt manages to get full guard.

Torres throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Veidt blocks it with crossed arms.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Torres has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
