The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Carter.
Carter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Copeland shoots in and drives through. Carter sprawls well.
Copeland shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carter pinned against the cage. Carter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A punch combination from Carter misses.
A combination from Carter does no damage.
Carter leaves Copeland with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jesse Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Copeland.
No joy there for Carter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Copeland shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Copeland was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Copeland is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Carter is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Carter flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Copeland anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Carter and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Copeland slips an arm under Carter chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Copeland has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Copeland is squeezing on Carter like an anaconda would it's prey. Carter fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
