Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Kovalev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Lodge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kovalev's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hannibal Ja Soppa - Meika o' hullu. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Kovalev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mark Lodge! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Valeri Chadov.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovalev misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Kovalev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lodge as he jumps to the side.
Kovalev shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lodge's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kovalev trying to control but Lodge is working from the bottom. Kovalev looking to pass the guard. Kovalev stopping the sweep attempt from Lodge. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Lodge seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Kovalev decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lodge, up you get!
Kovalev shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Lodge moves into full guard.
Lodge looking for a guillotine here but Kovalev defends easily.
Lodge is trying to control the position but Kovalev postures up.

Lodge looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lodge had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kovalev is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lodge Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kovalev's back instead. Lodge looks gassed! Kovalev is trying to break free.
Lodge doesn't have the hooks in and Kovalev manages to turn into his guard.
Kovalev passes into half guard. Kovalev works his foot free and advances to mount.
Kovalev jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lodge manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Kovalev swings around for an armbar but Lodge sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kovalev's guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lodge slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Kovalev manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lodge's best efforts. Kovalev trying to hold on to Lodge's head to control him but Lodge postures up.
Kovalev looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kovalev is trying to get back to full guard. Kovalev is controlling Lodge's trapped leg to prevent Lodge from advancing to side control. Kovalev moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Lodge avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lodge preventing the sweep. Lodge trying to control but Kovalev is working from the bottom. Lodge stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kovalev swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kovalev trying to keep a closed guard but Lodge is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kovalev managing to control the position. Kovalev looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Lodge wants to pass the guard but Kovalev is keeping the position. Lodge advances position into side control! Kovalev is not content to let Lodge control the position. Kovalev tries to improve position but can't. You can see the frustration on Kovalev's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Lodge tries to advance to mount but can't. Kovalev tries to buck Lodge off but Lodge is having none of it.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. You can see the frustration on Kovalev's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
 Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kovalev misses with a takedown attempt - Lodge sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Kovalev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Kovalev jumps guard but Lodge stands there with Kovalev around his waist. Kovalev gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lodge tries to pull guard but Kovalev holds him up against the cage and eventually Lodge drops back down to his feet.
Kovalev tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lodge smiles and moves away.
Kovalev gets the takedown into side control.
Kovalev goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lodge has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kovalev but great work by Lodge. Kovalev is looking to reverse the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kovalev manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lodge's best efforts. Kovalev is trying to get back to full guard.
Kovalev looking for submissions off his back. Kovalev is pressing down on Lodge's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vladimir Kovalev dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Lodge is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Kovalev pulls his head out easily.
Lodge looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kovalev is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Kovalev working for a submission but Lodge is keeping him at bay. Kovalev trying to control but Lodge is having none of it. Kovalev controlling the pace for now. Lodge is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kovalev has control of Lodge's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lodge regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Kovalev goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lodge is on top in guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round.
Kovalev has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Lodge doesn't defend quickly enough and Kovalev has managed to lock this one up! Can Lodge escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kovalev on a fantastic submission victory.
