Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Halen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Prayer. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Dan Halen enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cole gets the takedown into side control.

Cole is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Halen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Halen can't do much from the bottom here.
Halen tries to buck Cole off but Cole is having none of it.

Cole working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cole tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cole has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cole decides to stand up, so the ref orders Halen to his feet.

Halen doesn't manage to clinch there - Cole circles away.
Cole has a takedown stuffed.

Halen has Cole up against the cage in a clinch.
Halen makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Halen pushes Cole back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Cole drops down looking for an ankle pick but Halen pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cole is breathing heavily.
Halen tries to clinch up.

Halen closes the distance and clinches.

Cole tries to pull guard but Halen holds him up against the cage and eventually Cole drops back down to his feet.

Cole has Halen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Halen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Cole is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cole won't allow Halen to sweep him here.
Cole stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Halen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cole working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Halen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Halen is looking to stand up but Cole isn't so interested in that idea.

Halen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cole can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Halen wants to sweep here but Cole controlling him for the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Cole shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cole showed some decent athleticism there.

Cole seems to be looking for submissions.

Cole wants to work for an arm triangle but Halen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cole moves nicely into side control.
Halen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Halen is trying to get back to full guard.
Halen has hold of Cole's hands but Cole slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cole looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cole shoots in and bounces Halen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cole advances nicely into full mount.
