0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Diaz! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Snyte scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Diaz is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Snyte asserts his dominance and retains side control. Diaz is trying to control Snyte's posture but Snyte avoids it. Diaz is looking for a sweep. Snyte trying to control the action but Diaz is working from the bottom. Diaz can't do much from the bottom here. Snyte is looking to take a break and control but Diaz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Diaz wants to control but Snyte postures up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Snyte prevents Diaz from escaping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz manages to work his way to half guard, despite Snyte's best efforts. Diaz wants to get back to full guard but Snyte has passed into side control. Snyte is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Diaz has escaped the position, nice work there. Snyte is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Diaz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. What's Diaz going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Diaz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Snyte off and has taken his back! Diaz is cranking Snyte's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Snyte! He's tightened the choke and Snyte is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nick Diaz! A less than humble Nick Diaz misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
