PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romulus Amular (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jackson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting. Romulus Amular will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amular gets through Jackson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Amular is pressed up against the cage. Jackson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Amular down to the mat. Amular avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Romulus Amular seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jackson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Amular tries to avoid it but Jackson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Amular to the ground. Amular escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Amular bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Amular stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Amular fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jackson on the side of the head.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Amular, as that shot connected.
Jackson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Amular counters with a head kick. That will keep Jackson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Amular throws a leg kick which misses Jackson's front leg but catches the back leg as Jackson tries to avoid it.

Amular bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jackson's head backwards.
Amular lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jackson circles away quickly and effectively.

Jackson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Amular finds it's way round the side to connect with Jackson's head.
Amular connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jackson's hands.
Jackson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Amular bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jackson's head.
Jackson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Amular can pounce on him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Jackson. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Amular lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Amular sizes up Jackson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Amular throws a nice inside leg kick.
Jackson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Jackson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Amular tries to avoid it but Jackson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Amular to the ground. Amular escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
