Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Volanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Volanov has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Marcos Volanov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Volanov counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
Silva not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Silva has a closed guard, preventing Volanov from standing up.

Silva wants to get back to his feet but Volanov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Volanov moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.

Volanov controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.

Volanov pulls Silva in close to his closed guard and prevents Silva from doing any damage or advancing position.

Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Volanov is proving hard to escape from.

Silva is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Volanov on the ground.
Volanov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Volanov is working away from the top position though.

Silva wants to hold on but Volanov pushes him away.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Volanov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Silva is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Volanov should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Volanov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.
Silva is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Volanov gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Volanov has hold of one of Silva's legs. Silva is fighting the takedown attempt but Volanov gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
