Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jin Byoun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riley Wangstaff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Byoun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Riley Wangstaff!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byoun stuffs the takedown attempt from Wangstaff. Wangstaff gets slowly back to his feet.
Byoun wants to clinch up but Wangstaff keeps it at a distance.

Byoun looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Byoun sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Wangstaff defending well though.
Wangstaff looks gassed!
Byoun wants to take a breather but Wangstaff is having none of it.
Byoun is just content to waste time from the top position. Wangstaff takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Byoun is working Wangstaff over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Byoun loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Byoun wants to get up but he can't break Wangstaff's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Wangstaff looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Byoun is fending him off so far but Wangstaff persists. Nope, Byoun circles away and we're back to standing.

Byoun looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Byoun wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Wangstaff is looking to stand up but Byoun won't let him.

Byoun throws his legs up looking for a submission but Wangstaff uses it to pass to side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Nice takedown defense from Byoun. No joy for Wangstaff on that attempt.
Byoun doesn't manage to clinch there - Wangstaff circles away.

Byoun closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wangstaff with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Wangstaff throws a knee to the head but misses.
Byoun wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wangstaff has him pressed against the cage.
Byoun has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Wangstaff is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Byoun drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Byoun avoids the elbow strike from Wangstaff, against the cage.
Wangstaff tries to land a knee to the head but Byoun blocks with his arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wangstaff looking to throw knees to the head but Byoun is blocking nicely.
Byoun changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Wangstaff fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Wangstaff takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wangstaff has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Byoun off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Wangstaff gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Wangstaff tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Byoun has had enough of the clinch but Wangstaff keeps him there for the moment.

Byoun has Wangstaff pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Byoun pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wangstaff tumbling to the mat - Byoun dives into Wangstaff's guard.

Byoun thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Byoun tries to free his leg and advance position but Wangstaff is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Byoun postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Byoun looking to sit in guard and control but Wangstaff gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wangstaff won't allow Byoun to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Byoun shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wangstaff as he jumps to the side.

Byoun tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Wangstaff misses with a knee strike.
Byoun tries to stall but Wangstaff uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Byoun wants to break the clinch but can't.
Wangstaff lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Byoun stalling in the clinch but Wangstaff improves position.

Byoun gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Wangstaff wants to get back to his feet.

Byoun is looking for a kimura here.
Byoun wants to pass to mount but Wangstaff is defending the position.

Wangstaff is defending against the submission attempts here by Byoun.
Byoun is stalling here. Wangstaff is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Byoun seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Wangstaff has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Byoun tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wangstaff wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Wangstaff wants to stand but Byoun is controlling his arm.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wangstaff avoids a kick to the body.
Byoun shoots for a double leg takedown but Wangstaff sprawls well. He's pushed Byoun's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Wangstaff tries to clinch up but Byoun circles away and keeps his distance.

Wangstaff has Byoun up against the cage in a clinch.
Byoun blocks an elbow strike.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Wangstaff lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Jin Byoun has been cut.
Wangstaff lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Riley Wangstaff has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Byoun takes a knee right on the jaw!

Byoun lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Riley Wangstaff comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Byoun has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
