The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monbelly misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Monbelly is looking to clinch.
Monbelly fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nuken shoots in but Monbelly avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nuken swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nuken fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nuken controls Monbelly momentarily but Monbelly frees himself.

Nuken is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Monbelly defends well.
Monbelly really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nuken is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Nuken has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Monbelly can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Nuken pulls Monbelly in close to his closed guard and prevents Monbelly from doing any damage or advancing position.

Nuken escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Monbelly gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nuken kicks Monbelly off and gets to his feet.
Monbelly pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Monbelly cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Monbelly shoots in and drives through. Nuken sprawls well.

Monbelly shoots in looking for a takedown but Nuken manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Monbelly's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Monbelly has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nuken avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Nuken jumps guard and drags Monbelly to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nuken lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Monbelly circles away quickly and effectively.

Nuken tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Monbelly just stands there and leans against the cage.
Nuken goes for a takedown attempt but Monbelly pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Nuken decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Monbelly has Nuken pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Monbelly pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Nuken tumbling to the mat - Monbelly dives into Nuken's guard.

Monbelly is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Nuken looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nuken throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Monbelly because Nuken loaded up on that one.
Nuken misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Monbelly wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Nuken.
