Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack The Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Big Bad Wolf by Duck Sauce kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! David Williams has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack The Ripper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Williams!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams shoots in looking for a takedown but The Ripper manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Williams's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Williams lands a nice shot to the body.
The Ripper shoots and misses
and Williams makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The Ripper takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The Ripper ducks under a wild hook from Williams.
Williams moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
The Ripper walks into a jab.
Williams ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
The Ripper shoots for a takedown but Williams saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Williams with a nice cross.
Williams misses with a head kick.
Williams misses with a body shot.
Williams throws a nice inside leg kick.
The Ripper is trying hard to land a takedown here. Williams sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack The Ripper. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The Ripper shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily.
Williams thows a body shot but no joy.
Williams fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches The Ripper on the side of the head.

Williams gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Williams escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The Ripper misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The Ripper walks into a straight right hand from Williams.
No joy there for The Ripper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Williams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from The Ripper.
Williams tries to bum rush The Ripper with a series of wild strikes but The Ripper uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Williams throws out a powerful jab.
Williams lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

The Ripper closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Williams to the mat! Williams manages to get full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Williams had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. The Ripper defends it easily.
The Ripper tries to free his leg and advance position but Williams is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Williams fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. The Ripper looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Williams tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and The Ripper is able to avoid easily.
Williams thuds a left hand into The Ripper's body.
Williams lands a head shot.
Williams scores with a sloppy right hand. The Ripper should have avoided that one.
The Ripper fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Williams moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
The Ripper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Williams sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten The Ripper somewhat.

The Ripper gets caught napping as Williams dives in and scores a takedown. The Ripper manages to retain guard.
Williams throws a big elbow that misses.

The Ripper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Williams is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Williams accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Williams scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

The Ripper is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Williams defends well.
Williams wants to control from the top but The Ripper keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The Ripper is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Williams off and has taken his back!

David Williams dominated that round.
That's time! The Ripper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Williams closes the distance and lands a one-two.
The Ripper swats away the attempt to clinch by Williams.
Williams goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Williams tries a head kick but it misses.
The Ripper keeps the fight on the outside.
Williams throws a nice outside leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from The Ripper.

The Ripper shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Williams is refusing to be controlled, as The Ripper sits in half guard.
Williams won't allow The Ripper to pass to mount.

Williams moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Williams escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The Ripper gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
David Williams has got the better of the ground game so far.

Williams is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The Ripper trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Williams looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The Ripper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working.

Williams is trying to control but can't.
The Ripper not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The Ripper is nestled in close to Williams, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Williams is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. The Ripper is aware though and is defending well.
The Ripper sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Williams's guard.
Williams is not content to let The Ripper control the position.
Williams tries to get to full guard but The Ripper has control of the leg.

The Ripper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
You can see the frustration on Williams's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The Ripper tries to escape but Williams has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Williams is trying to stick to The Ripper's back but The Ripper is turning into Williams. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Williams's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by The Ripper.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jack The Ripper will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Williams dives in and grabs The Ripper's left leg, looking for a takedown. The Ripper pushes down on Williams's head and hops out.
Williams misses with a series of wild punches.
Jack The Ripper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A slow jab from Williams misses its intended target.

Williams tries to lock up and control but The Ripper gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The Ripper can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Williams is looking to escape.
Williams can't escape the position.
Williams wants to control but The Ripper is having none of it.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, The Ripper cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Williams is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The Ripper putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
The Ripper landing punches.
The Ripper lands a big elbow.
The Ripper raining down shots from the mount!
Williams is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Williams is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The Ripper has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The Ripper prevents Williams from getting the reversal.

I think The Ripper has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
