The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mavericka fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nolan is looking to clinch.
Nolan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nolan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mavericka looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nolan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Mavericka tries to keep at a distance but Nolan has taken the fight into the clinch.

Nolan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mavericka after a bit of a struggle.

Nolan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nolan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mavericka shoots in and drives through. Nolan sprawls well.
Mavericka shoots for a double leg takedown but Nolan sprawls well. He's pushed Mavericka's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nolan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Mavericka leaves Nolan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mavericka tries to close the distance and clinch but Nolan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Nolan moves into range and clinches up with Mavericka.
Nolan is trying to push Mavericka away but Mavericka has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Mavericka has had enough of the clinch but Nolan keeps him there for the moment.

Nolan jumps guard but Mavericka turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
