Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cannon Cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dalek Clovis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cannon Cage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dalek Clovis!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cage shoots in looking for a takedown. Clovis tries to sprawl out of it but Cage keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Clovis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cage fails to land with a series of punches.

Clovis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cage is looking for a sweep. Clovis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Clovis controlling the action here.
Clovis is thwarting Cage's attempts to control the position.
Cage flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Clovis stalling away here and it's allowed Cage to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cage not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cage throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Cage keeping moving, preventing Clovis from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cage closes this distance looking for a takedown but Clovis circles away.
Clovis lands with a nice combination. Cage backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Cannon Cage has been cut.
Clovis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Cage counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Clovis lands an elbow inside.
Clovis avoiding damage as Cage throws knees to the body.
Cage jumps guard but Clovis stands there with Cage around his waist. Cage gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cage tries to pull guard but Clovis holds him up against the cage and eventually Cage drops back down to his feet.

and Cage counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Clovis looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Cage wants to pass the guard but Clovis is keeping the position.
Cage would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Cage is breathing heavily.

Clovis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cage postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Cage trying to control the position from guard on top but Clovis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Clovis has his foot on Cage's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cage works his way back into a safe position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Clovis pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Cage rushes Clovis and presses him up against the cage.

Clovis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cage throws a body punch but Clovis moves out of range.
Cage moves in looking to clinch but Clovis pushes him off.

Clovis moves into the clinch.
Cage tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cage tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Clovis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cage just stands there and leans against the cage.

Clovis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Cage counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cage.

Clovis pushes Cage up against the cage in a clinch.

Clovis manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dalek Clovis will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Cannon Cage's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cage.

Clovis clinches up with Cage and pushes him back against the cage.
Clovis tries to pull guard but Cage holds him up against the cage and eventually Clovis drops back down to his feet.

Cage has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Clovis uses from the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cage closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cage lands in his opponent's guard.

Cage gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Cage closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Clovis to the mat! Clovis manages to get full guard.

Cage is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Cage shoots for a double leg takedown but Clovis sprawls well. He's pushed Cage's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Clovis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cage sprawls well initially but Clovis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Clovis escapes and gets back to his feet.
Clovis lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cage swats away the attempt to clinch by Clovis.
Cannon Cage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Cage misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Clovis.

and Clovis makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Cage bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Clovis tries to bench press Cage off him but Cage keeps the position.

The fighters circle momentarily. Clovis darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Cage moves into range and clinches up with Clovis.
Clovis tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cage just stands there and leans against the cage.
Clovis goes for a takedown attempt but Cage pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cage drops back, looking for a kneebar! Clovis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Clovis looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Clovis!
Clovis is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Cage's shoulder. That is not cool.

Cage is looking for a sweep.
Cage wants to control but Clovis postures up.
Cannon Cage overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cage regains half guard.

Cage looking for submissions off his back.

Cage actively working from the bottom here.
Cage tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cage is pressing down on Clovis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Cage has a closed guard, preventing Clovis from standing up.
Cage looking to control.
Clovis throwing strikes but missing.
Cage keeping moving, preventing Clovis from controlling successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Clovis scores with a takedown into Cage's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Clovis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dalek Clovis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Clovis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
