Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bartek Pietrzak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samir Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Bartek Pietrzak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Samir Cruz!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Cruz.
Pietrzak connects with a single shot there.
Pietrzak misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pietrzak just misses with a punch to the body.
Pietrzak misses with a left hand

and Cruz counters with a single leg into guard. Pietrzak didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Pietrzak is trying to keep Cruz in close.
Cruz trying to control the position from guard on top but Pietrzak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Cruz throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Pietrzak shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cruz as he avoids it easily.
Pietrzak scores with a one two! Cruz had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Cruz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Pietrzak can pounce on him.
Cruz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Pietrzak. Pietrzak obviously looking to wear him down.
Pietrzak looks to land a left hand but Cruz moved out of range nicely.
Pietrzak thuds his right hand into Cruz's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Cruz fails to land with a series of punches.
Pietrzak throws a lazy uppercut

and Cruz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cruz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pietrzak is on top in guard.

Cruz is refusing to be controlled, as Pietrzak sits in half guard.
Pietrzak tries to pass to full mount but Cruz defends it.
Cruz has hold of Pietrzak's hands but Pietrzak slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cruz can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pietrzak has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cruz's face.

Pietrzak landing strikes from the mount and Cruz is in trouble!
Pietrzak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pietrzak throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Cruz because Pietrzak loaded up on that one.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cruz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Cruz gets tackled into the cage by Pietrzak. Pietrzak maintains the clinch.

Pietrzak has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Cruz clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Can Cruz hold on?! Pietrzak is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Pietrzak's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cruz trying to get back to his feet but Pietrzak is in full control for now.

Pietrzak controlling the position well here. Cruz rolled but Pietrzak kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pietrzak cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Bartek Pietrzak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cruz taking shots to the head.
Pietrzak throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Cruz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pietrzak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pietrzak has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cruz's face.
Cruz tries to buck Pietrzak off but he can't manage it.

Pietrzak cracks Cruz with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Pietrzak fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cruz is squirming around, avoiding Pietrzak's attempts to control the action.
Pietrzak is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cruz can do to turn this around?

Cruz is in a horrible position here. Pietrzak smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Pietrzak is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cruz can't fight it off and eventually Pietrzak manages to take the fight to the floor. Cruz looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Pietrzak doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Bartek Pietrzak showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Pietrzak has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
