Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harry Cockburner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Harbor!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cockburner misses with a takedown attempt
and Harbor counters with a nice uppercut.
Cockburner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Harbor's waist but Harbor gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cockburner off to one side.
Cockburner is trying hard to land a takedown here. Harbor sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Harry Cockburner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A shot to the body from Cockburner misses
and Harbor counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Cockburner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Cockburner is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Harbor is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Cockburner is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Harbor has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harbor tries to improve position but can't.

Cockburner wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Harbor, who protects the arm well.
Harbor regains half guard there - taking advantage of Cockburner's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Harbor trying to control but Cockburner postures up.

Cockburner is looking for a kimura here.

Cockburner seems to be working for a kimura but Harbor defends the submission attempt.
Harbor moves into full guard.

Harbor is looking for a triangle but Cockburner pushes his legs off easily.

Harbor working for a triangle but Cockburner defends it easily.

Cockburner drops back, looking for a kneebar! Harbor looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Harbor looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Harbor!

Harbor swings around for an armbar but Cockburner sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Harbor's guard.
Cockburner trying to control the position from guard on top but Harbor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cockburner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Harbor is keeping the position for now.
Cockburner wants to control from the top but Harbor keeps moving.

Harbor looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cockburner drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Harbor dives on top into guard.

Cockburner keeping moving, preventing Harbor from controlling successfully.

Cockburner has his foot on Harbor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harbor works his way back into a safe position though.
Harbor slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Cockburner looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Harbor trying to control but Cockburner is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Harbor passes Cockburner's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Cockburner is looking for a sweep. Harbor is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Harbor passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Cockburner!

Harbor working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Cockburner looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Harbor! Submission of the night perhaps?
