PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Bing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Biff Bravado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Bravado's choice of entrance music: 16 shells from a thirty-ought-six tom waits. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Bing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Biff Bravado!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bravado fails with the takedown

and Bing counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bing.

Bravado working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bing doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bing manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bravado manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Bravado tries to sprawl but Bing drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Bravado is refusing to be controlled, as Bing sits in half guard.
Bing looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bing trying to mount his opponent but Bravado defends it.
Bravado moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bravado wants to sweep here but Bing controlling him for the moment.

Bing trying to control but Bravado is working from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bravado is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bing has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bravado is proving hard to escape from.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Peter Bing.
Bravado is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bing sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Bing will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bing slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Peter Bing overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bravado wants to finish this one by submission but Bing is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bravado.

Bravado is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bing has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Bravado has control of Bing's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bing regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Bravado jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bing manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Bravado is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bing is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bing is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Biff Bravado showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Bing jumps guard and drags Bravado to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Bravado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Bing on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bing tries to get out of the position.

Bing has his feet on Bravado's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Bravado drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bing looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bing looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bing!

Bravado sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Bing is trying to control the action in half guard but Bravado is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Bing is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bravado pushes Bing off looking to stand but Bing dives back in and keeps control.

Peter Bing showed his dominance in that final round.
