Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stef Jalz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tom Wright!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jalz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wright.
Jalz fails in his attempt to clinch.
Stef Jalz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wright's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Wright duly obliges.


It looks like Stef Jalz has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jalz moves out of range of the body kick from Wright.
Jalz swinging wildly here.
Jalz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wright.
Jalz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wright moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jalz avoids the head kick by Wright.
Jalz connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wright. Jalz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wright throws a low kick, looking for Jalz's leg but Jalz calmly moves out of range.

Oooooh!!! Wright has knocked Jalz down with a huge combo! Wright steps away and waves a wobbly Jalz back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Wright pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wright catches Jalz with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A jab from Wright misses.
Jalz avoids a punch combination nicely.
A head kick misses from Jalz.
The fighters circling - Wright throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Wright looks to score with a jab to the body but Jalz is just out of range.
Good shot there by Jalz.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jalz throws out a powerful jab.

Jalz moves into the clinch.
Jalz tries to break the clinch but Wright is controlling the position.
Wright presses Jalz against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Jalz pulls guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Wright trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jalz's guard.
Wright won't allow Jalz to sweep him here.

Jalz has his foot on Wright's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wright works his way back into a safe position though.

Jalz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jalz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wright is looking to stand up but Jalz won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jalz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wright defends it easily.

Jalz is looking for a triangle but Wright pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jalz has a closed guard, preventing Wright from standing up.
Wright is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Jalz is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Wright rolls with it to try and escape but Jalz cranks on the arm and Wright is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Stef Jalz!
Stef Jalz seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
