Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva.
Diaz fails with a takedown attempt.
Silva throws a left and a right that both miss

and Diaz counters by moving into the clinch.
Silva is trying to break the clinch but Diaz has him pressed against the cage.
Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Silva wants to get back to striking at distance but Diaz won't allow it.
Silva has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Diaz avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from Diaz, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diaz lands an elbow that stopped Silva in his tracks for a moment.

Diaz jumps into guard, dragging Silva to the mat.

Diaz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Nick Diaz has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Diaz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.
Ryan Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Diaz.

and Diaz counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Silva is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Diaz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage.

Silva misses with a body punch.
Diaz lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Diaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ryan Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silva wants to get up but he can't break Diaz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Silva stands up and waves to Diaz to follow him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Diaz is trying to pull guard but Silva has him pressed against the cage.
Diaz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Silva walks away with a smile on his face. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Diaz counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Diaz.
Silva wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Diaz gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Silva.

Diaz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Diaz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Diaz throws some wild stikes that Silva manages to avoid easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Diaz throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Diaz moves into range and clinches up with Silva.
Diaz is pressed up against the cage. Silva has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Diaz down to the mat. Diaz avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Diaz throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Silva because Diaz loaded up on that one.
Diaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Diaz swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Silva is now in Diaz's guard. A big mistake from Diaz there, giving up the dominant position!

Silva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Horrible takedown by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Silva which made him look bad.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nick Diaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Diaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
