Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erico Plaza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lolo Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Erico Plaza has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erico Plaza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lolo Perez!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Plaza moves in looking to clinch but Perez pushes him off.
Plaza is looking to clinch but Perez is avoiding it.
Plaza shoots for a double leg takedown but Perez sprawls well. He's pushed Plaza's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Perez keeps the fight on the outside.
Plaza thuds his shin into the meat of Perez's side.
Plaza shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Perez but Perez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Plaza is looking to clinch but Perez is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Plaza rushes Perez and presses him up against the cage.

Perez turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Plaza is working to avoid the ground and pound but Perez connects with a decent elbow.
A lull in the action here.

Perez is looking to take a break and control but Plaza is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Plaza gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Plaza trying to control but Perez postures up.
Plaza is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Perez lands a nice short elbow.
Perez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Plaza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Plaza is looking for a sweep. Perez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Perez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Plaza throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Perez not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Perez working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Plaza's thigh. Plaza counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Perez throws a big right hand that misses.
Plaza tries to land a sweep but no joy.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Plaza stuffs the takedown.
Erico Plaza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Plaza gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Plaza pulls Perez in to control the position.
Perez landing some decent shots from guard.
Plaza wants to stand up but Perez is controlling him.
Perez throwing strikes from guard but Plaza blocks nicely.

Plaza keeping moving, preventing Perez from controlling successfully.
Plaza controls Perez momentarily but Perez frees himself.
Plaza is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Perez is controlling him.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Plaza is on top in guard.
Plaza with a flurry of punches that miss.
Plaza controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Plaza stopping the sweep attempt from Perez.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lolo Perez dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Perez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Plaza wants to stand up but Perez is controlling him.
Perez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Plaza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Perez missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Plaza preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Plaza looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Plaza is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Perez has his hands clasped together but Plaza extends an breaks Perez's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Plaza.
