The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to clinch there but Newman circles away.
Newman lands a two punch combo.
Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Newman connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Newman fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smith is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Newman lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Smith looks to score with a jab to the body but Newman is just out of range.
Newman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
