Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Coraho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mesut Varrane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coraho gets caught napping as Varrane dives in and scores a takedown. Coraho manages to retain guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Coraho holds on and takes a little breather.
Varrane wants to control from the top but Coraho keeps moving.
Varrane wants to stand but Coraho is controlling his posture from full guard.
Varrane is fighting to break Coraho's control of his arms but Coraho is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Varrane must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Coraho has his feet on Varrane's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Varrane feints and then cracks Coraho's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Coraho down.
Coraho keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Coraho pushes Varrane up against the cage in a clinch.

Coraho manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Coraho pulls Varrane in close to his closed guard and prevents Varrane from doing any damage or advancing position.
Coraho bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Varrane's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coraho has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Coraho has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Varrane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coraho. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Coraho postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Varrane looks a forlorn figure.

Coraho tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Varrane is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Coraho has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Coraho fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Varrane is rocked!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Coraho pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A combination from Coraho does no damage.
Coraho tries to close the distance and clinch up but Varrane swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Varrane shoots in looking for a takedown. Coraho tries to sprawl out of it but Varrane keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Coraho manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Varrane is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Coraho has closed the distance and engaged Varrane in a clinch.
Varrane changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Coraho fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Varrane is breathing heavily.

Varrane clinches up with Coraho and pushes him back against the cage.
Varrane is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Rodrigo Coraho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mesut Varrane.

Coraho closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Coraho is working to tighten is grip on Varrane's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Varrane has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Coraho is really squeezing tight and eventually Varrane passes out! Coraho breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
