Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between George Bush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Motta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George Bush has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Bush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wanderlei Motta!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bush rushes Motta and presses him up against the cage.
Bush throws a knee to the head but misses.
Motta has Bush pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bush manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Motta tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Motta tries to score a body lock takedown but Bush shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
George Bush has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wanderlei Motta.
Bush with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Motta tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Motta takes a knee right on the jaw!


It looks like Wanderlei Motta has been cut.
Motta drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bush pulls his leg out and moves away.

Bush clinches up with Motta and pushes him back against the cage.
Bush looking to throw knees to the head but Motta is blocking nicely.

Bush connects with a nasty looking knee right to Motta's face.
Motta goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bush prevents it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Motta jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bush walks away with a smile on his face. Motta gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Motta goes for a takedown attempt but Bush pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bush gets underhooks to prevent Motta's takedown attempt.
Motta takes a knee right on the jaw!

Motta turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Motta sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Bush is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Bush throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Motta tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bush sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Motta somewhat.
George Bush is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Motta tries to keep at a distance but Bush has taken the fight into the clinch.

Motta has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bush is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bush escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Motta misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Bush is pushing Motta's head away, looking to escape. Motta manages to hold on to the position though.

Bush is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Motta prevents Bush from escaping the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Check out the look on Motta's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Bush wants to get back to his feet.
Motta scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bush to see if he's OK.
Bush tries to escape but Motta is in control.
Motta is chipping away with strikes.
Motta lands a few punches from side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bush sneaks out the side door and pushes Motta away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
George Bush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Motta closes the distance and clinches up with Bush, looking for a takedown. Motta pushes Bush against the cage but Bush circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Bush has taken the fight to the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Motta changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bush tries to avoid it but Motta manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bush to the ground. Bush escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bush ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bush no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Bush pushes Motta away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Motta gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Motta is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Bush looks calm but he's in trouble here. Motta gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Bush is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Motta lets go of the hold and Bush can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Wanderlei Motta!
