Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Markakis!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Asterix Sedetrano!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Markakis feints and as Sedetrano raises his hands in defense, Markakis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Sedetrano avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Markakis gets to his feet. Sedetrano looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Markakis clinches.
Markakis throws a knee to the head but misses.
Markakis misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sedetrano.

Sedetrano jumps guard and drags Markakis to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Markakis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sedetrano with a jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sedetrano throws a body punch but Markakis moves out of range.
Sedetrano misses the shot to the body.
Markakis gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Markakis has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Markakis there as he acknowledges the shot.
Markakis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sedetrano throws a right and a left that Markakis avoids nicely.
Sedetrano stuffs the takedown attempt from Markakis. Markakis gets slowly back to his feet.
Sedetrano misses with a looping right.
Sedetrano throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Markakis counters with a nice leg kick.
Markakis closes the distance and clinches up with Sedetrano, looking for a takedown. Markakis pushes Sedetrano against the cage but Sedetrano circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Markakis throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Sedetrano counter with a right hand.
Markakis looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sedetrano misses with an uppercut.
Sedetrano lands a really nice looking cross but Markakis seems unphased.
Sedetrano throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sedetrano throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sedetrano throws a right hand that Markakis ducks under and follows up with a left that Markakis also avoids with ease.
Sedetrano takes a swing at Markakis's ribcage but misses.
Sedetrano pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Markakis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Markakis staying calm.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Markakis tries for a kimura but Sedetrano is defending well.
An elbow from Markakis crashes against the mat.
Markakis fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Markakis has hold of Sedetrano's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sedetrano seems comfortable defending it but Markakis has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sedetrano is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sedetrano is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Markakis couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nick Markakis!
Nick Markakis retains his middleweight title!
