The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Trenchard misses its intended target.
Trenchard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Paqiuo sprawls well. Paqiuo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Trenchard gets slowly back to his feet.
Paqiuo takes a kick to the side of the head.
Trenchard tries for a takedown but Paqiuo circles away easily
and Paqiuo counters with a right hand to the body.
Paqiuo misses with a double jab

and Trenchard counters by moving into the clinch.
Paqiuo blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Paqiuo is trying to break the clinch but Trenchard has him pressed against the cage.
Trenchard is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Paqiuo pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Paqiuo is trying to push Trenchard away but Trenchard has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Trenchard jumps guard and drags Paqiuo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Trenchard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Paqiuo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Trenchard throws the kick towards the body but Paqiuo avoids it.
Paqiuo shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Trenchard eats them both and turns towards Paqiuo to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Trenchard takes one on the button.

Paqiuo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Trenchard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Paqiuo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Paqiuo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Trenchard tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Paqiuo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

John Trenchard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Paqiuo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Paqiuo lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Trenchard head around and knocks him out cold! Paqiuo hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
