Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nate North (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McLachlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLachlan has chosen Lostprophets - 4:AM Forever as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nate North!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John McLachlan!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLachlan throws out a loose jab but North uses good head movement to avoid it.
McLachlan misses with an uppercut.
North keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
North tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McLachlan was well out of range. Poor timing from North.
North misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McLachlan.
Nate North seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
North throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
North throws a front kick aimed at McLachlan's knee but McLachlan avoids it well.
North misses with a low kick.
North throws a solid leg kick but McLachlan takes the impact on his shin and smiles at North.
North tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McLachlan was well out of range. Poor timing from North.

North with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McLachlan to score with a decent uppercut.
North will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

McLachlan throws a hook to the side of North's head but North sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

McLachlan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from North.
McLachlan ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

McLachlan scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
McLachlan looks to throw the jab but North is out of range.

McLachlan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

North is looking to wear down McLachlan with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

McLachlan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McLachlan distracts North with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McLachlan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. North swivels though and keeps the full guard.
North has McLachlan pulled in close to control his posture.
McLachlan throws an elbow that misses. North uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McLachlan's guard. Nice move by North!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nate North.
North is looking to chop away at McLachlan's legs.
McLachlan checks a leg kick nicely.
North misses with a shot to the body
and McLachlan counters with a stiff right hand.
North thuds a left hand into McLachlan's body.
McLachlan checks the leg kick nicely there.
North takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

McLachlan moves out of range of the leg kick from North.
McLachlan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed North momentarily.
North ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McLachlan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
McLachlan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed North's guard.
McLachlan wants to take a breather but North is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
North regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from McLachlan.
McLachlan wants to control from the top but North keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

North uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McLachlan.
North throws out a leg kick but McLachlan moves out of range and North only half commits.
McLachlan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by North.

McLachlan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from North.
North shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

McLachlan stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from North.
North throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
North just misses with a punch to the body.
North pivots, looking for a leg kick but McLachlan is out of range and North settles back down.

North throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
North misses with a hook. McLachlan ducked under it nicely.

McLachlan might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nate North will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McLachlan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
North is looking to control McLachlan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can North avoid being mounted?
McLachlan is trying to control the action in half guard but North is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
North on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if North tries to get out of the position.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

North stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McLachlan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
John McLachlan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Nate North has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John McLachlan.

North does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
McLachlan checks the leg kick nicely there.
North ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McLachlan moves away.
North slaps away a takedown attempt from McLachlan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
North lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
North attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McLachlan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says North as he avoids it easily.
North lands a nice leg kick that just misses McLachlan's sensitive parts.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nate North.
I think North has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
