Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Laidler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kay Jerico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kay Jerico has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laidler rushes Jerico and presses him up against the cage.
Jerico drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Laidler gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Jerico breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jerico shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Laidler pinned against the cage. Laidler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Laidler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jerico paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Laidler throws a head kick but Jerico moves out of range.

so Jerico counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Laidler wants to stand and escape but Jerico is having none of it.
Jerico seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Laidler is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jerico is controlling him.
Jerico is working Laidler over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jerico is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Jerico thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Laidler wants to stand and escape but Jerico is having none of it.

Jerico stands and steps away. Laidler gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jerico closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Laidler's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laidler throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jerico stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jerico tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Laidler paws at him with a jab and circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jerico fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Laidler sprawls well initially but Jerico persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jerico stalling away here and it's allowed Laidler to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Laidler is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Jerico seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Laidler's chin but Laidler turns very nicely into Jerico's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Laidler.

A combination from Laidler does no damage.
Jerico changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Laidler tries to avoid it but Jerico manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Laidler to the ground. Laidler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jerico tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Laidler smiles and moves away.

I would just about give that final round to Kay Jerico.
