PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Sharp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Jones Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sharp kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Pantera - "Walk". Junior comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Can't Be Touched kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Junior.
Junior thows a left - swing and a miss!

Roy Jones Junior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Junior throws out a loose jab but Sharp uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sharp shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Junior is trying to defend but Sharp finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Sharp looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sharp is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Junior can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Junior has left one of his arms exposed and Sharp doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Junior screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
