Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Garrett Ferguson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luis Chalas!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ferguson throws a leg kick that is checked

and Chalas counters by clinching up.
Chalas misses with a knee to the head.
Ferguson stops a takedown attempt from Chalas.

Chalas manages to pull guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ferguson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Chalas's guard.
Ferguson wants to stand and escape but instead Chalas has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Chalas is pushing down on Ferguson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ferguson is fighting to maintain full guard but Chalas has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ferguson is looking to escape.
Ferguson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Chalas manages to mount him!
Ferguson is trying to stand.
Ferguson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Chalas working the ground and pound effectively.
Ferguson wants to try and get back to his feet.

You get the feeling that Ferguson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Ferguson is breathing heavily.

Chalas raining down hammerfists from mount.
Ferguson avoids a series of strikes thrown by Chalas.

Chalas has control of Ferguson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ferguson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ferguson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ferguson tries to get out of the position.
Chalas lands a nice shot to the head.

Chalas throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Chalas thowing shots but they're missing.
Poor strikes thrown by Chalas there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Chalas tries to clinch but Ferguson moves out of range.

Chalas takes the fight into the clinch.
Chalas managing to block the knees to the body from Ferguson.
Chalas avoiding damage as Ferguson throws knees to the body.
Chalas with a knee to the head.
Ferguson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Chalas is defending well for now.

Chalas pulls Ferguson into guard.

Chalas has his foot on Ferguson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ferguson works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferguson wants to stand and escape but instead Chalas has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Chalas is standing up over Ferguson. Ferguson looks to escape but Chalas dives into side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Chalas.

Ferguson bucks up and tries to throw Chalas off but instead Chalas has got his back!

Chalas throwing wild punches that miss their target.

Chalas has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ferguson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Chalas is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Ferguson taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Chalas.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Luis Chalas!
