PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yin Yang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kunimitsu Tezuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yin Yang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kunimitsu Tezuka!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tezuka tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Yang swivels and escapes.
A bone on bone clash there as Tezuka blocks the leg kick.
Good leg kick by Yang there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Yang throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tezuka shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yang pinned against the cage. Yang gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Yang pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yang lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Yang is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tezuka.
Yang tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tezuka was well out of range. Poor timing from Yang.
Tezuka on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Yang fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tezuka.
Yang throws a hook to the side of Tezuka's head but Tezuka sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Tezuka blocks a leg kick.
No luck for Tezuka with that takedown attempt.
Yin Yang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kunimitsu Tezuka.

Yang misses with a hook. Tezuka ducked under it nicely.
Tezuka is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Tezuka forces Yang back against the cage and clinches.
Yang misses with the head strike.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Tezuka tries for a takedown. No joy.
Yang misses with a punch to the body.
Tezuka blocks a body shot from Yang.
Yang is trying to break free.
Yang can't break the clinch.
Tezuka prevents a body shot from Yang.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Tezuka is working for a kimura but Yang is defending it quite comfortably.
Tezuka is looking to advance position but Yang won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tezuka stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Tezuka shoots for a double leg takedown but Yang sprawls well. He's pushed Tezuka's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tezuka avoids the body shot from Yang.

Tezuka closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Yang's guard.
Tezuka tries to free his leg and advance position but Yang is retaining full guard.
Yang knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tezuka on the ground.
Tezuka stops Yang from standing up.
Yang trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Tezuka slips nicely into half guard.

Tezuka decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Yang keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Yang lands a nice looking body kick.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tezuka will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kunimitsu Tezuka dominated that round.
That's time! Yang's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Yang throws a low kick but Tezuka avoids it.
Yang avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tezuka shoots in for a takedown but Yang shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kunimitsu Tezuka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Yang.
Yang lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Tezuka shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Yang is trying to defend but Tezuka finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Tezuka looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tezuka decides to stand up.
Yang ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Yang takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Yang throws a series of punches but Tezuka avoids them all with ease.
Yin Yang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tezuka avoids the head kick by Yang.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tezuka.

Tezuka shoots in and gets a takedown into Yang's guard.
Tezuka seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Tezuka slips nicely into half guard.

Yang tries to kick Tezuka off but Tezuka keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Tezuka is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kunimitsu Tezuka wasn't active enough on the ground.
Yang misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tezuka.

Yang throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tezuka moves out of range of the body kick from Yang.
Tezuka fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Yin Yang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kunimitsu Tezuka.
Yang lands a nice leg kick that just misses Tezuka's sensitive parts.
Yang fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Yang.
Yang throws a push kick but Tezuka slaps the foot to one side.
Tezuka moves forwards but Yang connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tezuka shoots in for a takedown but Yang shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Tezuka takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Yang swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Yang lands a jab to the nose.

Kunimitsu Tezuka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Tezuka takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Yang throws a leg kick which misses Tezuka's front leg but catches the back leg as Tezuka tries to avoid it.

Tezuka closes the distance and clinches.
Yang stops a takedown attempt from Tezuka.
Yang swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Tezuka has clasped his hands together around Yang's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Tezuka advances to full mount.
Tezuka controlling the pace for now.

Tezuka has control of Yang's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Yang regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Yang takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Yang really wants to buck Tezuka off and get back to his feet.
Yin Yang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Tezuka sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yang's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Kunimitsu Tezuka has got the better of the ground game so far.
Yang has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.

Tezuka is looking for the choke from the back position but Yang is controlling his hands well.
Yang is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

I've got Tezuka winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
