Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paolo Cezer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lawrence Cohen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paolo Cezer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lawrence Cohen !
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cohen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cezer is trying to defend but Cohen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Cohen tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Cohen passes to side control.
Cezer is not content to let Cohen control the position.

Cohen swings around for an armbar but Cezer sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cohen 's guard.

Cezer postures up.
Cohen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cezer is one step ahead there.
Cohen keeping moving, preventing Cezer from controlling successfully.

Cohen working for a triangle but Cezer defends it easily.

Cezer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Cezer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cohen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cezer has managed to get both his arms back between Cohen 's legs - danger averted.

Cezer controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Cohen throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Cezer pushes down on Cohen 's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Cohen is trying to control but can't.
Cohen tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Cohen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cohen .
Cohen wants to sweep here but Cezer controlling him for the moment.

Cohen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cezer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cezer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cohen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cezer controls the pace.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Cezer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cohen tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Cohen wants to control but Cezer is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cohen wants to get back to full guard but Cezer has passed into side control.
Cohen tries to buck Cezer off but Cezer is having none of it.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Cezer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cezer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cezer wants to control but Cohen is keeping him busy.

Cohen wants to control but Cezer postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lawrence Cohen was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Cohen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cezer on his heels. He'll look to pass Cezer's guard now, I'm sure.
Cohen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cezer is proving hard to escape from.

Cezer pulls Cohen in close to his closed guard and prevents Cohen from doing any damage or advancing position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Lawrence Cohen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Cezer clinches up with Cohen and pushes him back against the cage.
Cohen managing to block the knees to the body from Cezer.
Cezer lands a nice elbow.


It looks like Lawrence Cohen has been cut.

Cohen pulls Cezer into guard.

Cezer won't allow Cohen to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cohen wants to get back to his feet but Cezer passes into half guard.
Cohen wants to control but Cezer is keeping busy.

Cezer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cohen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cezer.

Lawrence Cohen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Cezer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Cohen gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

I would just about give that final round to Lawrence Cohen .
