Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Algenir Aguiar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soujiro Arashikage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Soujiro Arashikage! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aguiar drives through with a takedown into guard. Aguiar is working Arashikage over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Aguiar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Aguiar's corner is telling him to maintain position. Aguiar throwing strikes from guard but Arashikage blocks nicely. Aguiar in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Arashikage can do anything to dispel that myth. Aguiar stays in close to Arashikage's body and controls the position. Aguiar won't allow Arashikage to get back to his feet. Arashikage kicks Aguiar off and gets to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Aguiar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Arashikage on his heels. He'll look to pass Arashikage's guard now, I'm sure. Aguiar with a flurry of punches that miss. Arashikage wants to get back to his feet but Aguiar is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Aguiar tries to free his leg and advance position but Arashikage is retaining full guard. Arashikage avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Aguiar is looking to work some ground and pound but Arashikage has wrist control. Arashikage wants to stand and escape but Aguiar is having none of it. Aguiar with a flurry of punches that miss. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Arashikage is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Aguiar will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Aguiar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Arashikage to the ground. Aguiar is now in Arashikage's guard. Arashikage wants to stand up but Aguiar is controlling him.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Aguiar slips nicely into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aguiar wants to control but Arashikage is keeping him busy. Aguiar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Aguiar is taking a breather. Arashikage says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Aguiar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Aguiar trying to control from half guard but Arashikage is working away. Aguiar wants to take a breather but Arashikage is having none of it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Aguiar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Arashikage does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Aguiar is nestled in close to Arashikage, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Arashikage would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Aguiar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Arashikage is pushing Aguiar's head away, looking to escape. Aguiar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

And that's the end of the fight! Algenir Aguiar showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Aguiar, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
