Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timur Rod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rod has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Junior Dos Santos has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rod will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rod looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Santos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Santos lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Santos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rod has momentary wrist control but Santos slips an elbow through the middle.

It looks like Timur Rod has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rod is still in real trouble! Can Santos finish him?
Santos stands up over Rod, holding on to his feet. Santos throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Rod is out cold! Santos lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!
