The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svensen shoots in but Edwards avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Edwards fails to land with a series of punches.
Edwards tries to clinch up.

Svensen darts in and clinches Edwards up against the cage.
Svensen is struggling to control the position.
Edwards wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Svensen turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Edwards tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A lull in the action here.
Edwards pushes Svensen away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Svensen gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Svensen trying to control the position but Edwards is working away.
Svensen scores with a couple of short elbows.
Edwards is looking for a sweep.
Svensen prevents Edwards from escaping the position.
Svensen cracks Edwards with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Svensen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Edwards keeps working.
Svensen is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Svensen controls the position from side control.

Svensen has an Americana. Edwards didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Svensen is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Svensen hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
