PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Onizuka Stresemann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DeeJay Dickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stresemann comes into the arena with Takashi Sorimachi - Poison blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Onizuka Stresemann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, DeeJay Dickson!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickson looks to clinch
and Stresemann counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like DeeJay Dickson has been cut.
DeeJay Dickson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dickson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stresemann misses with a left hand
and Stresemann takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Dickson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stresemann is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dickson pushes Stresemann back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Stresemann keeps the fight on the outside.
Dickson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stresemann slips a jab and a cross from Dickson.
Dickson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Stresemann momentarily.

Dickson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Some wild striking there from Stresemann.
Stresemann drops his hands momentarily and Dickson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Stresemann throws a hook but Dickson blocks it.
A swing and a miss from Stresemann.
Dickson moves in looking to clinch but Stresemann pushes him off.

and Stresemann counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Dickson tries to clinch but Stresemann is having none of it.

Dickson moves into range and clinches up with Stresemann.
Dickson blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Stresemann tries a body shot but Dickson blocks it.

Dickson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dickson manages to end up in side control.
Stresemann tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dickson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Stresemann down.
Stresemann might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Dickson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dickson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Stresemann manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dickson is not content to let Stresemann control the position.
Dickson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Dickson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Stresemann throws a big right hand that misses.
Stresemann's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Dickson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stresemann is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Stresemann avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dickson is trying to keep Stresemann in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stresemann tries to free his leg and advance position but Dickson is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Dickson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stresemann swivels and escapes.
Stresemann misses with an uppercut. Dickson saw that one coming.
Dickson looks to score with a jab to the body but Stresemann is just out of range.
Dickson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stresemann paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Stresemann uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dickson.
Stresemann stuffs the takedown.
Dickson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dickson shoots and misses
and Stresemann counters with a stiff right hand.
Onizuka Stresemann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DeeJay Dickson.
Dickson throws a low kick, looking for Stresemann's leg but Stresemann calmly moves out of range.
Dickson moves in looking to clinch but Stresemann pushes him off.

Stresemann throws a left that rocks Dickson and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Stresemann dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Dickson regain composure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dickson tries to improve position but can't.
Dickson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Dickson seems a little lost for a moment, as Stresemann dominates the positioning.
Stresemann working the body and head with strikes.
Stresemann trying to control the action but Dickson is working from the bottom.
Dickson wants to get back to his feet but Stresemann is dominant here and he's now got Dickson's back!

Stresemann has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
A lull in the action here.
Dickson is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Stresemann off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Stresemann has one arm under Dickson 's neck. Dickson is controlling the other arm well. He's just looking to survive right now. Stresemann manages to get his arm free though and Dickson is in a world of trouble! Stresemann sinks in the hooks and squeezes! Dickson turns purple and then goes limp. The referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Onizuka Stresemann!
A very excited looking Onizuka Stresemann rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
