Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Punching Bag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mongol Mutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mongol Mutt!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bag scores with a one two! Mutt had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Bag cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Bag really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mutt takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Mutt displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bag throws out the jab.

Bag throws a hook to the side of Mutt's head but Mutt sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bag looks to land a left hand but Mutt moved out of range nicely.

Bag rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mutt moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Bag is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Mutt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mutt looks to clinch
and Bag cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bag waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mutt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Mongol Mutt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mutt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bag tries to avoid it but Mutt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bag to the ground. Bag escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mutt avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bag stuffs the takedown attempt from Mutt. Mutt gets slowly back to his feet.
Punching Bag has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mongol Mutt.
Bag throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mutt on the side of the head.

Bag throws an overhand right that lands on Mutt's shoulder, as Mutt tries to avoid the shot.

and Bag counters with a three punch combo that has Mutt backing up. Mutt nods at Bag to acknowledge the strikes.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Mutt tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Bag makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Bag connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mutt momentarily.

Bag loads up on a big right hand but Mutt slips the punch.

Mongol Mutt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mutt shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Bag stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Mutt walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Mutt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bag circles away.
Bag moves into range and connects with a jab.
Mutt walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Bag checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Mutt throws a leg kick but Bag sees it coming and moves out of range.
Mutt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bag is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

and Mutt counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Bag counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Bag misses with an uppercut. Mutt saw that one coming.

and Bag counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Mutt shoots and misses
and Bag counters with a nice uppercut.
Bag lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Mutt dives in and grabs Bag's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bag pushes down on Mutt's head and hops out.
Mutt misses with a double jab.
Bag uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mutt has time to react.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bag throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mutt on the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Punching Bag.
Well Bag has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Punching Bag decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
