PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johan Morgul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taavi Liisteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morgul comes to the cage accompanied by Skrillex-Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. Liisteri has chosen I Like It as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liisteri shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Morgul's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Liisteri is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Liisteri stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morgul swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morgul can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Liisteri controls the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Taavi Liisteri hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Morgul takes a swing at Liisteri's ribcage but misses.
Liisteri fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Morgul on the side of the head.
Morgul misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Morgul can't keep his opponent in guard - Liisteri advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Liisteri looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Morgul won't allow Liisteri to pass to mount.

Morgul pushes Liisteri off looking to stand but Liisteri dives back in and keeps control.
