Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Angelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Ribery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Angelo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Ribery!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Angelo ducks under a wild hook from Ribery.

Angelo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Angelo prevents the takedown attempt.

Ribery manages to break the clinch.
Angelo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ribery.
Angelo shoots in for a double leg but Ribery sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ribery keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Ribery gets caught flat footed, as Angelo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ribery managing to control the position.
Ribery's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Angelo wants to control from the top but Ribery keeps moving.
Ribery is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Angelo is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ribery is controlling Angelo's posture.
Angelo wants to control from the top but Ribery keeps moving.
Ribery is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Angelo trying to control but Ribery is working from the bottom.
Ribery is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Angelo is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Angelo moves away from the strike by Ribery.
Ribery gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Angelo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ribery throws a hook but Angelo blocks it.
Frank Ribery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ribery throws the left hand but Angelo avoids the punch easily.
Ribery stuffs the takedown attempt from Angelo. Angelo gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Angelo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ribery misses with a body shot.
Ribery looks gassed!
Angelo staying out of range there.
Ribery throws a lazy right hand but Angelo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice sprawl there from Ribery as Angelo shoots in.
Angelo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ribery throws a jab but it's blocked by Angelo.
Ribery throws a sloppy body shot

and Angelo counters by moving into the clinch.
Ribery avoiding damage.
Ribery can't break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ribery tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Angelo is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Angelo landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Angelo tries to score a body lock takedown but Ribery shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Angelo breaks the clinch.
Ribery misses with an uppercut. Angelo saw that one coming.

Angelo has Ribery up against the cage in a clinch.
Angelo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Ribery stalling in the clinch but Angelo improves position.
Ribery wants to break the clinch but can't.
Angelo prevents Ribery from breaking the clinch.

Angelo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ribery misses with a looping right.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Angelo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Angelo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Ribery holds on to Angelo's head and controls the position momentarily.

Ribery explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Ribery keeps the fight on the outside.
Ribery connects with a crisp jab.
A big left from Ribery misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Angelo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Angelo swats away the attempt to clinch by Ribery.
Angelo tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ribery counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


Angelo is rocked!
Angelo shoots in but no luck this time.
Oh Angelo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ribery darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Angelo's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Ribery before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Frank Ribery!
